Football: Park View Grad Robert Hayes Helps Shepherd to 9-0 Start, No. 12 National Ranking in NCAA D2

(Nov. 6, 2010) - Park View High School grad Robert Hayes, all-district, all-region and all-state defensive lineman for the Patriots, is getting some playing time as a freshman at Shepherd University and has helped the Rams to a 9-0 start and No. 12 ranking in NCAA D2 football.

Hayes, a 6-foot-2, 285-pounder, has played in all nine games as Shepherd has clinched a WVIAC title and is ranked first in the region. Hayes has three solo tackles, three assists, 2.5 tackles for loss as well as a sack and two quarterback hurries.

There are two other freshman on the Rams roster this season: Potomac Falls grad Tarrell Owens (6-2, 181 DB) and Heritage grad Josh Labuhn (6-2, 255 OL).
